TMS is a good option for patients with depression who have failed to respond adequately to several trials of antidepressants and or who could not tolerate treatment with medications. They must have also tried some therapies such as CBT. These are basically the criteria for insurance coverage with some nuances. At this time it is covered through Cigna, United Health Care, BCBS, Aetna, Tricare, Medicare. We are the only TMS facility to offer treatment to TEENS and CHILDREN OFF LABEL that I am aware of.
